Focus RS Live Mapping.
It is a common misconception that the Ford EEC ECU within the Focus Rs MK1 cannot be emulated and mapped live. This is not true... IT CAN, and we can do it.
During live mapping, we will attach an emulator to the ECU and actually access the information within it whilst the engine is running and the ECU is in use. This is the ultimate form of mapping and gives better results than a custom mapping session as modifications can be made in real time. For engines with altered compression ratios, cylinder head modifications, camshaft changes, inlet manifold changes, injector changes and turbocharger changes; this is the ultimate solution!
Live Mapping: What is It?
Live mapping is where an emulator is connected between the ECU and its run calibration allowing the mapper to control the calibration froma laptop live, while the engine is running. Essentially, it allows us to map the vehicle without having to guess, and make changes live just like you would with an aftermarket ECU, like OMEX for example.
We made a little video a year or two back to demonstrate it.
